Backdrop City
There’s something about walking aimlessly around a city that evokes all kinds of inspiration. Whether it’s the building architecture, the graffitied walls, or a picturesque bridge you stumble upon, there’s nothing like getting lost in it and discovering new sites. Most people walk by buildings without taking a second glance. I walk by a building and examine it for it’s potential back-dropness. I understand that's not an actual word or proper adjective, but I'm coining the phrase now. You heard it here first.
Dublin is filled with graffiti, rustic brick buildings, and colorful walls perfect for showcasing a beautiful couple or bridal party. This building has continued to be my favorite, mainly for it's soft pastel blue color and interesting symmetry that's just begging to be photographed, but after hearing about it's raving past, I'm even more obsessed. Once an old mill building, it was turned into a secret night club in the 90's when house music was taking off and techno was all the rage! I love a backdrop with a story and this one has several. It was sadly shut down after a drug raid, but it's beauty continues to decorate the dirty old town that is Dublin.
