We experienced a slight Indian summer in New England this year, and even though the colder weather is setting in, I’m still getting warmth from these beautiful fall tones that can easily take you well into winter wedding season. These combos are so delightfully warm, they’ll have your girls glowing as they walk down the aisle.

Most of the dresses you’ll see today are found on ASOS, one of my favorite clothing sites for all items, but they’ve really upped their game on occasion wear over the last couple years. One tip if you’re a bride who knows what she wants, but wants to keep things easy and uncomplicated for you girls is to put a few mix and match options together, get their approval on the overall composition of dresses you’re thinking of, then buy all of the dresses yourself, and have your girls pay an even split. This way, everyone is paying the same amount and you get the vision you’re going for. Brides always worry that they’re being too demanding, but from my experience, this is one area your maids want your direction in.

Another piece of advice when going the mix and match route. Choose different textures and fabrics to create interest and movement, but keep at least one constant throughout each dress. In the collage above, all of the dresses are made of satin or flowy fabric, so layering the warm tones and adding a pop of yellow doesn’t seem so drastic.
I used to be a bit scared of the color yellow, but now it’s one of my favorite colors to style and wear. Especially the more drawn out golden hue’s I’ve been seeing this fall that are a perfect fit for a vintage theme wedding. Add plenty of textures like beading, velvet, and silk to really make your girls stand out.
And last, but certainly not least, don’t be afraid to make a bold statement with all gold dresses. The constant here is gold, so you can pretty much mix and match as you please! I am loving this look for a cozy winter New Years Eve wedding. I like the unexpected contrast of different gold patterns that adds a little more contrast and wow factor than if your girls were wearing the same gold dress.
I could literally do this for hours with several different color palettes, and don’t worry, I’ll be back with more ideas and links on where to find them. Remember brides, It’s your day, so have fun with the process and enjoy the time with your maids! Happy hunting!
In honor of our anniversary, I thought I’d take a look back on my most favorite day and share what we decided to buy vs DIY for our wedding day.
