Our Union

I found it appropriate as my very first post to reflect on what has propelled my love for wedding design and planning, and share the labor of love that was my wedding day. I literally poured blood (just a little), sweat, and tears (plenty) into this day and while I’m not great about tooting my own horn, I am compelled in this moment to say two things, “toot toot!” Not only did I have the greatest joy in marrying my husband, but I found my passion in the process.

I am not a planner or decision maker by trade. Not even close. In fact, I can be kind of a flake when it comes to making plans and staying organized in my personal life. I have these ideas of grandeur for the end result, but I always struggle with the means to get there. Unnaturally, planning my wedding was the exact opposite. I had a gripping vision that I thoughtfully and imaginatively carried out with ease (lie). Ok not with super ease, but in some sort of cosmic, fateful way, I found my means to an end on what turned out to be the single most perfect day for me and my husband, and it was EVERYTHING, to us.

Contrary to my personal life, I felt solid in every decision we made, whether it was deciding to buy antique creamers months before I even knew what types of tables we’d select, or deciding to make our own hupa-esque arch for our ceremony. Everything we did was just us; Simple, balanced, a little quirky, and with a whole lot of love.

It was this day I realized my passion for wedding and event design and thus my reason for creating such an outlet to share my ideas of such grandeur.
